For a long time, Chérisy has drawn from his position. Located at the borders of the valley of the Eure and its Norman groves, the plains of Beauce and the borders of Yvelines, both city and countryside, it offers a certain sweetness of life. Its existence dates back to the early days of Gallic domination. At the beginning of this domination, it is mainly Fermaincourt (now hamlet of Chérisy), by its position at the edge of the forest of Dreux, which was the theatre of an important religions cult. Under the merovingian dynasty, kings established their palaces in Fermaincourt. The th century saw the construction of a church and a strong castle. The normandes invasions were feared in that region. In the th century, the Revolution struck a fatal blow to the city. It was from that time that Chérisy acquired importance. It was the place of passage from Paris to Dreux and to Basse Normandy by royal route (ancient Roman way). In 1870, the village was burned by the Dukes. Despite its immediate reconstruction the population ceased to decline. Starting in 1954, Chérisy will recover again.
