GALERIES LAFAYETTE

Department store
4/5
2 reviews

The most amazing with Galeries Lafayette in Lyon is that they are in Bron! At the entrance east of the city, following the A 43, but accessible by metro (line D, Mermoz-Pinel station). A popular, changing neighborhood, undergoing rehabilitation with important works leaving the Galleries. Created in 1964, they have a second youth with the opening of a large parking lot (TCL relay parking) and new developments (not finished at the time we write these lines). The exterior changes, but what does not change yet is an interior that, for our taste, does a little too much "big surface" and not enough to please us more. Nevertheless, there are "corners" with the biggest brands of French luxury (leather, footwear, clothing, table arts…) and many more to answer all our desires. On the ground floor: Children's fashion, a pleasant bookshop corner, household appliances, linen, lingerie, watches, bags, scarves and beauty products, among others. Upstairs, clothes and some accessories. Not forgetting the Lafayette Gourmet, grocery store for every day and fine grocery store, renowned chocolate makers (Sève and Neighbor) and great lyonian names like Bahadourian for products. Efforts on the part of vendors/vendors who seem to have understood the meaning of the word service (especially in the garment). Unavoidable of good business: 3 J and other promotion days. Galleries far away from the city center, which has never prevented us from going there with pleasure. Futé likes it.

A tradition of tradition at the Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse, Cellerier has transposed its Univers universe. Superb boutique, huge and perfectly furnished, where you can find all the pleasures of Cellerier. At the bottom of the shop is Ciao Ciao, the fine Italian fine grocery store and its famous hams, cheeses, the numerous lyon specialities that have made the reputation of the house, a new oyster bar which saw the day at the back of the house, and a catering service that allows us to enjoy each passage at Confluence (and which makes a lot of it). happy in the area at lunchtime…). It's a pleasure to be able to taste, cut, or cheese of this quality. The vendors have a smile in addition to the products that hold the top of the food basket on site or to take away. An address for a house whose name bears the best values of the Lyon gastronomy.

Pleasure... this is a word that we love and love more when it refers to sweetness! The Vaise district is home to some really great addresses, including this Plaisir Sucré run by master craftsman F. Breniaux. In a charmingly decorated setting, he offers us, from the outside, quality sandwiches (homemade with homemade bread), but above all sweets that make us happy: homemade ice cream made with local fruit, sweet and savoury macaroons, chocolate candies, candied fruit, cakes (including a new one every month) and a whole range of chocolates nicely packaged in gourmet boxes. An address recommended by Le Futé for every day when you want to treat yourself!

You can consider a visit to Domaine Chasselay as an immersion. In addition to the self-catering cottage, there is a table d'hôtes, four bedrooms and an exciting cellar with "the wines and beers of the friends". Stocked with vintages from all over France, this magical cellar does not forget the ciders, artisanal beers and sharp whiskies. Here is a very rich and beautifully shaped universe. However, it is impossible to forget the essential, the wines of the estate. The 11 vintages to be tasted, are all labelled "organic agriculture". The red Beaujolais Cuvée des Quatre Saisons is direct, uncomplicated and fresh. More structured, the cuvée de la Platière must be opened in a carafe to reveal a character that places it above many of the region's wines

DORODI PASTRY

While France remains one of the lands of pastry -and Rue Paul-Bert has at least a famous one…-, the United States is the land of pastry. Often, when travelling to the States, in New York, you wonder why one of these famous bakeries has not opened yet in our neighbourhood. So, that's done two steps from the train station of Part-Dieu with Dorodi Pastry, whose specialty is donut. Donut, it is a little like in our country the eclair or doughnut, a real inexhaustible source of little pleasures that do not really help to lose weight but are so much fun! Donuts in tens with seasonal flavours, but the dark chocolate is timeless in our opinion, muffins and cookies that are each better than the last, as well as gourmet cheesecakes to enjoy with a homemade lemonade. The only concern is that we must keep coming back to taste everything! Note that we can find Dorodi and the charming Myriam on the markets (Croix-Rousse, Quai Saint-Antoine).

While the Grand Prix is located around Lyon, Smart has not found many addresses of this kind in the city itself (or out of price). An address that has been in existence for a long time, but it is found every time with the same pleasure, whether it is its private parking lot or its well-stocked rays. Only one of the Smart Council, do not hesitate to use the cheese factory (everything is packed) when all the vendors are busy. This brand name (Distribution distribution), which is also for the catering professionals, offers a nice choice of fruits and vegetables within a metro station (Jean Jaurès). We particularly like the fresh radius with country cheeses and the arrival of small local producers to watch according to seasons.

Yes, there is something divine in the beer production! So, if you became a god, the time of a brassage? This is undoubtedly one of the most pleasant addresses of this banks of the Rhône, overlooking the banks and the numerous barges. A friendly address where you can enjoy good beer, the cellar offers us many Belgian beers that are not often found, but especially an address where you can make yourself a good beer. And this is Smart. To become a brewer, just book a 2-hour slot and be a little inspired. Because if the master of the sites will introduce you to the secrets of the brewing, it will be up to you to compose your beer with the ingredients that will be provided to you according to 5 recipes: The White, the Blonde, the Amber, the Brunette and a Special season. Then, just add yeast to start the fermentation and wait 3 weeks to get your bottled beer back on which it will be taken care of to apply a personalized label. By making someone tasting your beer, you can always say, "It's me who made it" and it is always great.

From Villefranche, going to Liergues, take close to the cooperative wine cellar of Gleizé, the road of Saint-fonds, the property is then striking. Of the 9   ha of one holding, 8   ha are in silt and 1   ha in chardonnay that produced a white wine medalist in Mâcon. The wine cellar adjoining the main housing is large and serves as reception for 150 to 180 people, for weddings, parties, seminars. The property has been completely restored and highlights its stones. The old doors have been preserved, with antique furniture, old barrels and manger in the store. The green spaces covered allow for groups outside or under top. You can also find the calm on this hillside at the beginning of Golden Stones. The 3 cottages of 2 épis and the 3 guest rooms are located in an independent building overlooking the beautiful area, with a garden area, a set of balls and parking adjoining. It's the full campaign, with its trails, and the city is nearby.

Winery

Georges Vernay was one of the emblematic "figures" of the vineyard. Condrieu owes its fame to him. For many years, he defended his vines planted on steep slopes so that they would be recognized for their true value. His daughter, Christine, has taken over the business, which is now fully certified as an organic vineyard. The cuvée Les Chaillées de l'Enfer is made from 2 hectares of 40 year old vines. The flagship of the reds are the superb Côte-Rôtie wines, including "Maison Rouge", a harmonious wine with a beautiful finesse in the mouth.
