Things to see and do Split & Area

South of the island of Vis, the narrow cove of Stiniva was voted "best beach in Europe" in 2016 by the readers of a Brussels tourist portal (European Best Destinations). And that's understandable. This natural site, protected since 1967, is bordered by massive cliffs that leave a passage to the sea of only 4m. This gives it an intimate, paradisiacal look, and warmer water than anywhere else. A 20-minute walk on the rocks leads to the creek. A slightly sporty descent but it's worth the detour!

Beautiful sea promenade that follows the contour of the bay. Between the port and the Roman villa near the Waterman Svpetrvs Resort, here is indeed a large and well laid out coastline with a lot of places to swim or relax: small or bigger beaches, pontoons to jump in the water... You will find along the Supetar bay children's playgrounds, beach bars, restaurants... To return to the port, the inland road, very commercial (supermarkets, tourist shops), is less attractive.

The sacral treasure of the cathedral is next to the church of Saint-Domnius (Sveti Duje). You can admire a collection of shrines in gold.

By road, discover the north coast of Ciovo. The Bura-Line boats for Slatinus stop in Arbanija. The opportunity to swim at the beach of Kava, 4 km east of Slatinus and find quiet beach bars, the Palandara buffet for example (Arbanija).

5 km from the town centre, to the south of the peninsula of Čiovo, this sandy beach, 2 km long is the most popular in the corner! On site, a water sports club, beach bars, restaurants and parasols.

It is a beach of sand and gravel shaded by a pine forest, that the people of Trogir or Split are visiting. Take bus # 37 for Split.

In this urban and tourist agglomeration between Trogir and Split, the seven municipalities forming Kaštela have joined their efforts to retain holidaymakers, who often just pass through. In this municipal agency you can find information and details about accommodation (many private rentals), restaurants, activities and visits on the riviera, excursions to national parks, bus schedules and shuttles to the nearby airport.

Perched on the clifftops between Lac Bleu and the Gospin dolac stadium, the fortress follows the natural shape of the rocks. The fortress was built in the ^14th century on ^9th- or ^10th-century fortifications. At the main entrance, you can visit the first room where Stipan Vrljić, Imotski's first priest, lived and officiated in the small church of Our Lady of the Angels. But from the end of the ^15th century until 1717, the fortress was in Ottoman hands. It was the seat of the Kadija of Imotski, the Turkish civil administrator and judge.
