In the old village, after the St. Martin's Church, you come to a square where the library is located. On the second floor, a room preserves the memory of the sculptor Ivan Rendić, a contemporary of the master Ivan Meštrović. Born in 1849 in Imotski, Rendić lived his youth in Brač. After artistic studies in Italy and trips to Zagreb, Trieste and Rijeka, he returned to Supetar. Here the town exhibits some busts, preparatory drawings for the mausoleum of the Petrinović family (municipal cemetery). In the garden, the statue of the Allegory of Pure Reason.

In July 2004, the American magazine Forbes ranked this beach of white pebbles, typical of the region, among the 10 most beautiful in the world. Others followed... These distinctions made it possible to preserve this natural jewel. On its western side, the Rock (Kamen Brela) appears as the most photographed emblem of the beach. On its bare stone stand a few Aleppo pines and a small maquis of myrtle, arbutus and juniper. It is forbidden to climb this islet.

Bačvice is too concrete but it remains the most popular beach in Split, the closest to the historical centre. In summer, all day long, the show is worth a look! Against a backdrop of house or techno, broadcast by beach bars, the feverish, even noisy atmosphere is festive. When some dance while sipping a cocktail, real athletes indulge in their picigin game, the local sport, the ancestor of water polo.

During the off-season, the beach becomes calmer again. If the wind is not too strong, the coffees remain open.

From Vis Port, follow the long waterfront path to the east, bordered by old and newer summer residences. Towards the end of the walk, after the village of Kut, we arrive at the Grandovac peninsula. Walk past the church and the former Czech property (VillaTopič), once glorious in the past, which is now abandoned and gently squatted by the young people. The cove is protected from the breeze by the pine forest that dominates it, and can be seen below at the beach bar. Crystal clear water, white pebbles, cicadas in the tamarisk trees..

This pre-Romanesque church was built in the 9th century near the river Cetina, in honour of Pope Stephen VI. It's one of the oldest in the country. Despite the ravages of time, the Saint-Sauveur church remains remarkably upright in its natural environment at altitude, which adds to the beauty of the site. Very important for Orthodox Christians, it is surrounded by about 1,100 tombs in a cemetery considered one of the largest in medieval times.

A monastery, many times destroyed by invasions and by an earthquake but always rebuilt. Today it preserves a beautiful archaeological collection, which was initiated in 1860 in the area of Čitluk, when an ancient head, that of Hercules, was discovered, as well as the lower part of the statue of an emperor. Also found were statues of goddesses, Hecate or Diana with its 172 cm base, numerous tombstones with commemorative inscriptions, high reliefs representing Medusa, Diana and Bacchus, pottery. Another remarkable collection is the numismatic collection with gold coins dating back to the Hellenistic and Roman periods.

Built between 1699 and 1712, the Church of the Virgin Mary (Crkva Gospe Sinjske) was damaged several times, but has withstood wars and earthquakes, preserving its original appearance to this day. This is the miracle! The icon of the Virgin Mary, painted by an anonymous artist (15th or 16th century), is very graceful, with her head slightly bowed and her eyes lowered. According to the legend, thanks to her intercession, the city was liberated from the Ottoman domination in 1715. Grateful, the people of Sinj crowned her with a golden crown. The treasure also includes silver liturgical objects from the Gothic and Baroque eras, religious paintings, and priestly vestments from the 17th and 18th centuries. Also on display are traditional costumes.
