Worked bases in Split allowing to raise the apartments of the emperor.
Rooms and galleries in the mezzanine of the palace allowed the emperor's apartments to be elevated. Once located at sea level, these elaborate basements follow the floor plan of the imperial dwelling. For a long time, these obscure rooms remained as they were. The archaeologists cleared tons of earth agglomerated with organic and mineral waste before finding sculptures, columns, capitals, etc. in the foundations.
