Head of 9 communes, Lignières is a pleasant small town. The river L gives it charm and the nickname of "little Venice berrichonne". It is also close to the vast forest of Saint-Thibault and the Étang Pond. In the past it belonged to the abbey Notre-Dame d'Issoudun. It was an important centre of calvinism at the time when Calvin, a student at Bourges university, created many reformed churches. th- and th-century mansions and mansions flooded the city, as did the th century private castle and its large park. There are many demonstrations in Lignières. Every year at Ascension, we discover the Festival L'Air du temps dedicated to the song, and the Foire (you can even buy a donkey!) on Pentecost Monday: Lignières was recognized as the historic cradle of the black donkey of the Berry. The markets on the farm are numerous, it is an opportunity to taste quality local products.
