Inaugurated in 2006 on the site of the Horse and Donkey Pole, the Lignières-en-Berry hippodrome offers enthusiasts one of the country's most performing equestrian equipment. Héritière of a tradition of horse racing dating back to 1879, the Lignières Race Society organizes seven meetings per year in three disciplines: piercing, gallop and steeple. The hippodrome is a place of competition, training and a track access platform of higher categories. All facilities are designed to provide the best possible comfort to horses: box and stalls, direct access to slopes, careful maintenance of trails. Owned by the General council of the Cher, the internationally renowned Hippodrome is set in a superb setting. It has a panoramic restaurant, VIP tents and green spaces allowing seminars and organising private events. The hippodrome reinforces the attractiveness of the Pole du Cheval and the Donkey, which opened in 2010 a holiday village, Les Trailer du Berry.
