Saint-Christophe-en-Brionnais is known as the city of heritage. This is the home of the Centre d'Études des Patrimoines, where researchers compile, edit and organize colloquia with speakers from all over Europe. The CEP is the initiator of the "Chemins du Roman" throughout the Chalonnais and Brionnais regions, and houses a permanent exhibition on Romanesque art, as well as a School Museum reconstituting a classroom from the beginning of the last century. The little town is also the home of the beef market, a benchmark throughout France, with its "marché au cadran" (clock market) every Wednesday.
