With a few hundred inhabitants, Odeleite is one of the larger towns in the eastern Algarve. The locals like to say that all the residents are over 65 years old. This probably explains the serenity and tranquility that emanates from the place and the attachment to its history and traditions. In addition to its church dating from 1534, we visit the Casa de Odeleite, which recalls the artisanal practices of the region, before heading to the dam built on the Ribeira. An aerial photo reveals that the dam has given the river the shape of a blue dragon, a phenomenon that attracts visitors who recognize it as a symbol of Chinese luck
