At the confluence of Mediterranean and Atlantic regions, between Guadalquivir and the ocean, this ancient hunting reserve is a paradise of more than 100 000 ha (if the natural park is added) for fauna and flora. It consists of beaches, dunes (as well as fossiles and fossils, the dune system of the park is one of the most complete in Europe), marshes and transitional areas (La Vera), lagunaires complexes with sliding sands, as well as stabilized areas (cotos) covered by forests with pine forests with many mammals. Located at the crossroads of the provinces of Huelva, Sevilla and Cadiz, this national park, in good conservation condition, is classified as the Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. Indeed, this protected area, which enjoys a good climate, is of great wealth for the European continent, as it is chosen by many species of birds migrating to Europe and Africa. This precious natural and ecological area thus serves as a refuge for more than 300 species of birds and even a few species of animals, unfortunately endangered, among them: Spanish lynx or Iberian imperial eagle. During the summer of 2017, unfortunately, there were fires that caused damage but no casualties.
