Located 9 km from Athens, the municipality of Palaio Faliro stretches along the coast facing the Saronic Gulf. Easily accessible by streetcar or bus from the center of Athens, it offers in all seasons a pleasant walk along the sea. This suburb has undergone major transformations in recent years, with the construction of the marina and the Olympic stadium which in 2004 hosted the taekwondo events. Another large-scale project is currently under construction: an opera house designed by the architect Renzo Piano. In Palaio Faliro and in the neighboring municipality of Alimos, you will find the first beaches of the Athenian Riviera.
