Soleuvre is a section of the commune of Sanem. It borders Differdange and Oberkorn to the west and the site of Belval to the south. The first traces of this locality go back to 793, but it is very likely that a fortress was built well before that date on the top of Mount Soleuvre. In the past, there was a castle in the village, which was destroyed twice, in 1145 and in 1552, when it was not rebuilt. Today, Soleuvre has about 6,000 inhabitants and is home to a concert hall (3, rue Jean Anen), as well as several restaurants. The Belvaux-Soleuvre train station is nearby.
