The mining village of Lasauvage, embedded in a narrow valley along the French border, deserves that we linger in its streets in search of its secrets. It is here that one of the oldest ironworks in Luxembourg was located, a forge built around 1625. Later, from the last quarter of the 19th century to 1978, Lasauvage became an important iron ore mining site. Although the two museums in the village are easily accessible, it is best to take a guided tour to learn all about the workers' houses, the Count of Saintigon, the castle of Lasauvage, the hanging room and more.
