Pétange is the capital of the municipality of the same name. It has 18,000 inhabitants and is located in the extreme west of the Terres Rouges region, near the Belgian and French borders. In addition to the Fun-City leisure center, which mainly attracts a family clientele, its two points of interest are a major archaeological site, the Oppidum du Titelberg, an ancient fortified place from the 1st century B.C., and the Train 1900, which can be taken to reach the Minett Park Fond-de-Gras site via the "ligne des Minières" opened in 1874. Near the city center is the railway station of Petange, served by the CFL
