Municipality of almost 3,000 inhabitants, whose old town has been declared a property of cultural interest. At the entrance you can see the Romanesque church of Santiago, where pilgrims who could not continue their pilgrimage came to prostrate themselves before the Gate of Pardon. In the Rúa del Agua there is a succession of beautiful residences with coats of arms, such as the Palacio de Torquemada (Torquemada Palace) and the Casa Morisca (Morisca House). In the San Francisco church, built in the thirteenth century, one can admire the Mudéjar-style coffered ceilings and the Churrigueresque altar. The San Nicolás el Real convent preserves a remarkable Baroque altarpiece, while its cloister houses a Natural Science Museum.
