86 km east of Benavente is Puebla de Sanabria and the largest lake of glacial origin in Spain, surrounded by wooded mountains over 2,000 m high. Classified as one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, the walled city boasts a beautiful historical ensemble, including a majestic 15th century castle and beautiful stately homes. From this locality, a 12 km road leads to the lake in the natural park. There are two tourist offices on this road, 4 km and 6 km from the exit of the village. Through the park, there are 9 marked trails that allow you to appreciate the protected fauna and flora.
