Just 5 kilometers from Abbiategrasso, the small center of Morimondo lies within the boundaries of what were once the historic outbuildings of the famous Cistercian abbey. A lovely car-free area, it's easy to explore on foot and boasts a number of traditional trattorie. The town's history revolves around its abbey, but its origins certainly date back to Roman times. 5 km to the south, along the main road, the hamlet of Fallavecchia is worth a visit to admire the traditional layout of a rural dwelling, with its courtyards, manor house, stables, mill and well.
