Like Attard and Lija, Bazan was originally a small village that grew into a parish in the 17th century. In 2019, the town had more than 4,700 inhabitants as it is now a much sought-after place for the Maltese middle and upper classes. During your visit, you will appreciate some old houses, some painted balconies and balustrades, as well as a rather graceful church, especially when it is decorated for the local festival. The latter takes place every year on 12 July and features a statue of Our Lady and the Archangel Gabriel, carved in wood by Salvatore Dimech
