South of Hamrun, it is a lively and colorful city at the time of its festa, in July. It is the second most populated town on the island with 16,000 inhabitants. The city center is also known for its bakeries (there were more than 200), which led to its being named by the knights: Casal Fornaro, "the village of bakers". Today, this tradition is still very much alive. The center is pleasant, the modern outskirts a little less so. As one of the largest cities in the country, you will not be surprised to find many shops, small and medium-sized businesses and an interesting cultural and social life.
