White houses, surrounded by black mountains, for this village located on a large plain of very fertile land and surrounded by the volcanoes of Guenia, Tinamala, La Caldera and Las Calderas. Originally, it was located a little higher up, so that the inhabitants could see the merchants' boats arriving, but this position also made it easier for the houses to be ransacked during pirate attacks, so the decision was made to move to the lower part so that it would be better protected by the mountains. Today, the houses are a little scattered with a small, denser core near the church. The cactus garden is its main attraction.
