Among these street villages along the N 12, nestled between Chaumont butte and Multon Forest, Saint-Denis-sur-Sarthon, a thousand inhabitants, houses an interesting built heritage. Founded in 1717, after the piercing of the road of Brittany since National 12, it consists of some sixty hamlets and places. If you go to this county of the Orne on the border with the Mayenne, just stop to admire the Romanesque church of this village, 500 m south of the village, quite remarkable. It was in this xiiith century building that Zélie Marie Guérin, the future mother of Saint Thérèse, was named. The painter Raoul Dufy (1877-1953) stayed in Saint-Denis-sur-Sarthon during the Second World War. The village school today bears its name. As for the old house of Providence, it is the one where girls learned the point of Alençon in the eighteenth century. Taking a little longer, you can discover the Château de la Touche (xviiith century), but also the Fault Castle and the Mansion de la Faïencerie (guest rooms) or the furnace of the vestige of the vestige of a metal manufacturing plant. If the vestiges of the forge are always visible - and historic monument - nothing remains from the metal manufacturing plant, the fakehead or the flour mill. And if you fall under the charm of the surroundings, you can stay in the charming house of La Louvière.
