Located 33 km from Oaxaca, Ocotlán de Morelos is known in the area for its tianguis (market) held on Fridays. It is a rural and popular market that is well worth a visit, especially since the plaza is covered with stalls to tantalize your taste buds. The place is best known for its artisanal forges where swords are made. Take advantage of your visit to take a look at the old Santo Domingo convent which was also a prison. Absorbed by Ocotlán, the village (or neighborhood) of San Antonino Castillo Velasco is known for its embroidered blouses and huipiles, especially the pattern called Hazme si puedes
