From Asunción Noxchitlán, a small road winds along rocky peaks and canyons which make it an ideal place for recall and paragliding practice. This "place where water spreads", known for its high waterfalls, is considered by some to be one of the cradles of the mixtèque civilization, as suggested by the codex Nuttal preserved in the municipal library: it recounts the existential and political epic of the legendary leader Ocho Venado. For those who want to spend the night to rub up at the mountain peaks in the morning, the community offers very pleasant rooms with fireplaces to spend the night.
