The village of San Juan Bautista Coixtlahuaca (130 km from Oaxaca, via main Road 135 D) is the heir of the most important city-state of civilization mixtèque at the time staggered: the small archaeological site that is visiting Inguinteria today is far from reaching its original 30 km 2. Coixtlahuaca is now mainly visited for the village convent, completed in 1576, which distinguishes itself mainly from the exterior facade of its temple, decorated with beautiful sculptures. To complete your stay, 4,5 minutes from the village is a sanctuary of marine fossils that dates between 60 and million years, which deserves a small walk or by bike.
