45 mn north of Cuicatlán, it is one of the oldest villages established in this region of La Cañada. It prides itself on being the cradle of the roseta, one of the most important endemic species of the reserve, which is discovered during a nice stroll in its natural garden. Other guided walks on foot, bicycle or horse take you to the Ciudad Vieja (zapotecs ruins upstream of the village) or to the Puente de Fierro which crosses the Rio Grande, vestiges of the railway line that connected Oaxaca to Mexico City.
