This summer resort of more than 29,000 inhabitants has a fishing and leisure port and has also preserved a medieval quarter. There is a 13th century castle, the Castillo de Luna, now the seat of the city hall, as well as baroque churches. Nearby, La Costilla and El Rompidillo offer well-equipped city beaches, but lovers of long stretches of wilderness will find their happiness a little further on. However, it is better to go there to discover its wine cellars and taverns or to enjoy its wide range of hotels, since this city is linked to Cadiz by a regular catamaran ferry every day.
