Travel Guide Cadiz Summit

The few ruined buildings along the way are invariably covered in graffiti. Such is the case at Cadiz Summit (GPS coordinates: 34.569612, -115.486828), a small pass in the Marble Mountains that you'll discover 18 miles from Essex. The site once housed an attractive roadhouse with a gas station, café, and a few cottages for tourists. The view from this elevation (366 m) of Route 66 in the desert is worth a photo stop. Warning: in 2022, and a priori for a long period, Route 66 was cut between Fenner and Amboy. The only option is to take the I-40 to reach this stage.
