Perched on the edge of a plateau almost 200 metres high and overlooking the Guadalete river, it is surely one of the most beautiful small towns on the Iberian Peninsula. Arcos was one of the most important cities in Muslim Andalusia. Going back up from the Plaza de España, you will have to take a walk through the bewitching old town, to scan the horizon from the Plaza del Cabildo and watch the birds hovering beneath your feet. Before leaving, don't forget to discover the lake, Embalse de Arcos, in the direction of El Bosque, although it is not equipped. And to test the local nectar, the Tierra Blanca, a tasty little white wine.
