When discovering this city of more than 116,000 inhabitants, one is struck by its site surrounded by fortifications. Home to the oldest university in Spain, this port city has a historic center where it is pleasant to lose oneself in its narrow streets in search of palaces and churches, witnesses of its former glory. For in the 18th century, it became the main Spanish commercial center where all the wealth of the Spanish colonies was gathered. After commemorating two centuries of the Constitution of 1812, the mythical Pepa, it boasted in 2015 the construction of the Constitution Bridge, one of the longest in the country.
