Surrounded by salt marshes, pine trees and beaches, this seaside town (twinned in Béziers since 1993, Chiclana even has a casita at the» of August!) with a thermal and wine-growing tradition. Recently, a huge modern tourist complex was created: Novo Sancti Petri, the name of the legendary island of Sancti Petri off the golden beach of La Barrosa (8 km long and holding a blue flag for its cleanliness). Like El Puerto de Santa María or Conil de la Frontera, Chiclana with its bars and discos along the beach is undoubtedly one of the areas where summer fever is rife.
