Guardian of the Noble Valley, named after the many noble families who occupied the territory in the 15th century, the city shelters the remains of this prosperous period and is now celebrated for its waters and wines. The Zinnkoepflé grand cru, cultivated by nearly twenty winegrower families, is often awarded in international competitions. A southern microclimate induces southern dry grasslands at the top of the Zinnkoepflé classified as Natura 2000 and makes botanists happy, as they can find rare and sensitive species.
