At 670 meters, Gérardmer is enveloped in a forest of fir trees. Abel Hugo called it "the Pearl of the Vosges". Skiing in winter, water sports in summer (windsurfing, catamaraning, canoeing, kayaking or diving): there's no shortage of entertainment! In January, Fantastic'Arts, the Festival du Film Fantastique, has been held for over 20 years. Don't miss the Fête des Jonquilles (a Sunday in April), when daffodil floats parade through the streets, the Festival de Musiques actuelles in July, or the cheese market (try Géromé!). Gérardmer is renowned for its granite, wood and bleached linen.
