Located in the centre of Polésie, the Pripyatskiy National Park was founded in 1996 on the basis of an existing nature reserve since 1969, in order to preserve the unique ecosystem of the region, in particular the large submersible oak vessels whose valley of the Pripyat is rich. A walk or, even better, by boat, this park is a alternation of flowery meadows, forests, waters and dunes. There are dunes in Belarus? Indeed, the southern part of the park is covered with pine forests whose roots are in sand buttes, close to the dunes. Water is probably the predominant natural element. 30 000 hectares of the park are occupied by marshlands. During the great flood season, the water reaches up to 70% of the park! That's why rubber boots are essential for any visit in April and May. The boat is an essential means of transportation here, often seen on the edge of the water or beside the houses. It is also the ideal place for ornithology. In the park there are 250 species of birds that nidifient here or are passing through their annual migration, from Western Europe to the forests of European Russia. This place of completely wild beauty is to visit, among others, all lovers of authentic nature and not affected by human activity. Hunting and fishing can be done. For more information, please contact the tourist office located in the city of Turaw, where you will begin your visit.
