Gayasan, located on the border of Gyeongsangnamdo and Gyeongsangbukdo, is not the biggest, nor the most popular of Korean national parks. But it's still quite charming, and promises some great walks and hikes. The main attraction is the cultural treasure that nestles here: the Haeinsa temple, home to the Triptaka Koreana, an unparalleled Buddhist heritage. Those with time on their hands can take a treasure hunt through the mountains to find the hermitages linked to the temple, while enjoying the generous natural surroundings.
