Cat Tien National Park covers the provinces of Dong Nai, Lam Dong and Binh Phuoc. With 71,920 hectares of forests, plains and swamps, it is home to many protected wildlife species: 500 species of mammals listed, including many endangered primates such as the endemic yellow-cheeked gibbon, the Asian elephant and the gaur. Not so long ago, tigers and the rare Javan rhinoceros, now extinct due to poaching, were still reported.
