At 2,552 meters above sea level, it is the smallest and most remote of the volcanoes surrounding Antigua. Active, it experienced a major eruption on May 27, 2010, and then a period of high activity between February and April 2021. In March of the same year, the rain of ashes caused by the gusts of wind had led to the closure of the capital's airport. Nevertheless, its ascent is the most requested excursion of Antigua. In cause: its interest-effort ratio. Since the path is very busy, it is also possible to do the hike alone; however, check with INGUAT that it is safe.
