Located in the southwest of Antigua, between the departments of Chimaltenango and Sacatepéquez, the Acatenango dominates the city and its surroundings, from its 3,976 meters high. This sleeping giant is home to plantations of corn as well as beans. Above all, as an illustration of the magnitude of tourism related to volcanoes, it has a growing appeal to visitors. As such, it is the subject of a two-day trek with its close neighbor, the very active El Fuego. A unique and memorable experience, intended for people in very good physical condition. In cause: its level of difficulty, estimated at 8/10.
