Nestled among vineyards, this small town of just over 1,000 inhabitants lies halfway between Colmar and Mulhouse (about 20 km on either side). The origins of the town are uncertain. Here, you can admire the small church of Saint-Gall, as well as the remains of a castle, built on a motte. The area is also popular for its climbing site, located high above the town. Discovered in 1979, the 25-metre-high sandstone façade is a climber's delight. Located in an agricultural region, Bergholtz has been renowned for its wines since the 18th century.
