Beasain is located in a most idyllic setting, in the heart of Goeirri, surrounded by mountains and bathed by the river Oria. This city-museum, which has preserved an admirable group of monuments from the Middle Ages, is also an important center of the railroad industry, so much so that the inhabitants of the city have been nicknamed the "wagoners". Don't miss the Palace of Igartza, a medieval site built in the 13th century that includes a bridge, a wooden dam, a forge and a mill. The town center itself is home to some notable points of tourist interest, such as the Basilica of San Martín de Loinatz and the Nuestra Señora de Loinatz hermitage.
