Ordizia is the capital of the Goierri region. Destroyed by fire in 1512, it has been almost completely rebuilt. However, it still has a very interesting urban core dating back to the Middle Ages. But what makes its reputation is the markets that are held every Wednesday since the 12th century, where you can find all kinds of local products. In terms of heritage, the charming Ordizia has preserved in its old quarter - classified as a historic site - some remarkable buildings such as the Nuestra Señora de la Asunción church, the 17th century Zabala and Barrena palaces, and the Muxika tower house.
