It is a very small, charming commune in the heart of the Cotentin bocage: hardly more than a hundred inhabitants live there! Its tiny town hall bears witness to the very small number of people who live on this land, near the northern end of the Cotentin marshes. The pretty little church of Saint-Martin houses a Virgin and Child which is well worth a look, but Ecausseville is most famous for its airship hangar, a local attraction which you can of course visit. Built between 1917 and 1919, its dimensions reflect the immensity of the flying machines of the time. And yet, it has been little used..
