Its high city, which juts out into the sea, is the symbol of Granville, a vast port in the south of the Channel. One of the city's original features is the existence of a real island district, none other than the Chausey Islands: the archipelago, which measures 6.5 kilometers by 12 kilometers and includes no less than 52 islands at high tide, is inhabited by a few dozen Granvillais all year round. A lively city in summer and winter, accessible by train from Paris, and labeled "European City of Sport in 2023", its life is punctuated by several major events, including its carnival in February, the largest in the department, and the centennial of the splendid "Marité" rig. A city to discover.
