Europe's only concrete hangar, a 150-meter-long, 30-meter-high building in Ecausseville. Flight simulator

This concrete hangar, unique in Europe, was built between 1917 and 1919. Today, this imposing building (visible from miles around) of 150 meters long and 30 meters high is classified as a historical monument, and can be visited. The history of the place is explained to you, and you can also fly yourself! The association Aéroplume proposes you to fly with the help of a small individual airship, by beating of your own wings! A unique experience, lasting half an hour, but which must be booked in advance.

The hangar of Ecausseville near Montebourg (50).
It is nestled amid the greenery, on site we find a hangar with airships which is unique in France and by its size, unique in Europe. I visited it during his opening Saturday, April 2, 2016 with the new animator (Cyrille) who began. The latter first announced us that the museum was completely redesigned for the opening 2016 while talking about 3 wars (1914-1918 1939-1945, and finally the cold war between 1967 to 1969) and the history of the airships including main idea. History buffs, I was delighted. It is rare to see a site with such a long history, in the region we find museums on a theme (the landing of the allied or German occupation) and there in only one site 53 years of history of the 20th century from 1916 to 1969.

Asked to the entertainer the history of the graffiti in the hangar, it is funny and curious. Record in the large.

If not for passionate feeling, they can fly, but the opening is starting from July 1st. It is better to ask before moving. There was nothing this April 2nd.

Finally, on site, the site is magnificent, nature lovers will be surprised, because it borders the marais, animator announced me and showed wild orchids, trees tadpoles, the small river that flows at the bottom of the site. It's a shame that this site is not highlighted. I saw facilities on corners of this swamp where there is nothing extraordinary and there, nothing is done… It is really a shame.
