Tenero-Contra is a small town east of Locarno, on the shores of Lake Maggiore, known as one of Europe's camping capitals. With its privileged location between lake and mountains, it offers a wide range of sporting and recreational activities. At the entrance to the Valle Verzasca, it's an ideal starting point for discovering this most traditional of areas. The Contra dam, located at the entrance to the municipality, is an impressive sight at 220 m high. For the more adventurous, it's the ideal place for a little bungee jumping, like James Bond in Golden Eye.
