Cevio lies at the crossroads of four major valleys that run parallel to the Valle Maggia (Valle Rovana, Valle di Campo, Val Bavona and Val Lavizzara). The town boasts a rich architectural heritage. Cevio's main square is surrounded by beautiful buildings such as the prefecture, with its coat of arms of the bailiffs, the Rovana church and the old part of Cevio, with its patrician houses dating back to the 17thcentury . One of these is particularly interesting, with its richly decorated facade displaying the 17th-century coat of arms of the bailiffs. Not far away, the Franzoni house was the residence of the Confederate bailiffs.
