Ghiffa, a village of 2,400 inhabitants, is famous for its spa center and famous 19th-century villas surrounded by gardens overlooking Lake Maggiore at an altitude of 200 meters. But it's above all the sacred mountain of Ghiffa, listed by Unesco like the other sacred mountains of Lombardy, that is worth visiting here. Surrounded by a large wooded reserve, it's an ideal place for walks. For those with time to spare, or to occupy a rainy day, you can also linger at the Hat Museum: this is where the famous Panizza rabbit felt men's hats have been traditionally made since the late 18th century.
