Sagone, a seaside resort in the commune of Vico, is 30 minutes from Ajaccio, in an unspoilt landscape of natural coves and mountains languishing in the sea. It's a small resort with sandy and rocky beaches. A small, moderately sheltered port, shops, bars and restaurants, a village stretched out lengthways - that's what Sagone is today, a recently-built family seaside resort. In Sagone, travellers can visit the ruins of the ancient Romanesque cathedral of Sant'Appianu, as well as a splendid cruciform baptistery with octagonal basin nearby. A well-preserved Genoese tower to the west of the bay!
