This city, located 48 km from Beirut at 900 m above sea level, does not have any special interest unless it is the road transport centre for the Bekaa and links with Syria, Lake Qaraoun and Marjayoun. From here, you will be able to explore the region and take advantage of the shops, banks and gas stations of this city that grow year by year. If you go to Syria, do not hesitate to change your dollars or your € on the Lebanese side, the exchange is more interesting. Beware, traveller's cheques and credit cards are only accepted in only a few banks.Local cheese (labneh) and yogurt (laban) are well known and deserve a tasting. We advise Jarjoura and Jaber Jaber establishments along the main road. Jaber Jaber is on your left before arriving at Chtaura and Jarjoura on your right in Chtaura. The Lebanese take a break, drink a coffee, take a cheese sandwich and make some purchases. An ideal place to know good local products.
