A large village situated on the road to Beiteddine-Sofar, at 1 700 m above sea level, Barouk owes its fame to the forest of cedar which overlooks it by a hundred meters. Barouk is a starting point for hikers who wish to explore the Shuf and the surrounding mountains. Cedars are well preserved, the trails are clearly marked and abundant wildlife.
