The pretty village of Sedini, with its 1,300 inhabitants, lies on the road between Castelsardo and Perfugas. Here you can visit an astonishing pre-Nuragic necropolis (c. 3000 - 2000 BC) carved out of an imposing basalt rock. As well as housing the dead, this Nuragic "cathedral" later served as a quarry, prison, shelter for animals and men, and even a shopping arcade. The surrounding area is rich in churches, some of which are part of the Romanesque church circuit. These include the ruins of the 12th-century monastery of Saint Nicolas de Silanis and the 17th-century church of the Madonna del Rosario.
